You Are Monday |
![]() Like this day of the week, you are ruled by the moon. More than anything, you are flexible. You are moody and impressionable. You are easily influenced by the world around you. And while you can be temperamental, you eventually adjust. While Mondays tend to be the hardest day for people, you don't mind getting back to regular life. You're the one waking up early and making the coffee while everyone else complains. |

Which day of e week?
Nite or Day?
You Are a Night Person |
![]() For you, there's nothing worse than having to get up and moving early. In fact, you probably don't hit your peak until well after the sun has set. So if your struggling to make it on a normal schedule, realize it's not your fault. You just weren't meant to do anything during the day! |

NYP joint conference wid Jiang Nan University
1st day... wen to sch @ 2pm for briefin... reach TFA bt no1... kinda surprise e AV technician rmb n recognise me sia~ chit chat for a while b4 ST and e others reach... was brief abt e duties on e 2 days: control rm for lightin n sound, backstage for switchin of slides, update corner for speakers to update like duh) and q&a for handlin of wireless mic... wanna do control rm... cuz can slack... anyway... dere's 4 shift for duty... so can do each duty once la~
anyway... e technician came down to backstage regardin some stuff... den came to tell me to off e service light... den ST wonder y... so i jus explain tt i'm frm TMT... blah blah... in e end... allocation of duty tt time... he ask me to do backstage for 1st duty liao~ den settle e rest of e duty... den he mention e intercomm to e rest... n he asked me to teach e rest... den dismissal~~
2nd day... 1st day of conference... get to backstage to prepare... wearin of intercomm bring back e memories of SA drama production... things went well i guess... if not ST won't ask me to take backstage for all shift liao -.- ya ya... end up i stay @ backstage for all 4 shifts~ to tink i wanna b @ control rm sia~~T.T
2nd day of conference... reach pretty early... set up of laptop n stuff... alone most of e time @ backstage... cuz jade wasn't dere for b4 lunch... bt not much diff actually... thing went well... other den 1 major blunder tt i made >.<
came to realise tt while i'm havin duty @ backstage... a few lecturers end up recognisin n rmb me >.<>
anyway... enjoyed myself dng those duty... n how glad i'm in TMT... something abt appreciation tt i share wid da abt... Perhaps, it's because that mostof the time, people neglect about those that work behind the screen... Thus when you are being thank for your effort while working backstage, you really feel appreciated? At least... that's how i feel...
I'm glad tt e lecturers feel tt i did a great job... bt i noe it in me tt i had made quite a few blunders tt could haf been avoided in the 1st place... >.<
can't w8 for minds carnival... where i'll help out for live audio~~
Edited on 2nd Oct:
Jus received an email frm ST...
Hi AV team
Thank you very much for helping out. Couldn't have done it without your help, the director and lecturers find the running of the event to be very smooth, and you guys are accomandating to their ever requests, especially Jie Ying. I'm sure you guys would agree with me.
Though it may seems a boring task, but without you guys standing by, in the event of mishap the conference would not be able to run, so your roles are very important.
All in all, thank you very much! and Enjoy your holidays!
Best Regards,
Stewart Tan
Kinda surprise tt ST mention me in e email... I'm really happy tt i'm bein appreciated... :D

Song: Shu Guang

Song: The Art of Letting Go
The Art of Letting Go
Put away the pictures.
Put away the memories.
I put over and over
Through my tears
I've held them till I'm blind
They kept my hope alive
As if somehow that I'd keep you here
Once you believed in a love forever more?
How do you leave it in a drawer?
Now here it comes, the hardest part of all
Unchain my heart that's holding on
How do I start to live my life alone?
Guess I'm just learning,
Learning the art of letting go.
Try to say it's over
Say the word goodbye.
But each time it catches in my throat
Your still here in me
And I can't set you free
So I hold on to what I wanted most
Maybe someday we'll be friend's forever more
Wish I could open up that door
Now here it comes, the hardest part of all
Unchain my heart that's holding on
How do I start to live my life alone?
Guess I'm just learning,
Learning the art of letting go
Watching us fade
What can I do?
But try to make it through
the pain of one more day
Without you
Where do I start, to live my life alone?
I guess I'm learning, only learning,
Learning the art of letting go.

Movie: Wall-E
really like e movie... touchin~ n pretty sweet too~
can't help wonderin if technology haf simplify our life a lil too much... to e pt tt 1 day all we can do is rely on machines, robots and technology to get tru our life... Gettin lazy to even get up to change or eat, much less exercise...
Wall-E... aft watchin tt... make me think abt e future of Earth... perhaps not e near future... bt i tink... wad's deplicted in e movie will happen one day... Earth covered with rubbish that it become a mission impossible to live on it anymore... Gng green... tt's wad been e topic isn't it? tryin our best to save Mother Earth by reducing, reusin and recyclin... Each and everyone haf to play a part to save our Earth...
Wall-E n Eve is sooooo sweet... e part where Wall-E wanna hold Eve's hand... e part where Eve tried to restore Wall-E parts... e part where Wall-E 'lost' personality he had n revert back to e feelingless robot tt he was wen he was 1st created...
n M-O is soooo cute... haha... cleanin up aft Wall-E... hehe...
n e cute lil cockroach~~
not bad... like tis movie lots... not forgettin e lil trailer before e movie... amusin... haha...
plan to catch other movies which include: Bad Habit, High School Musical 3...

Story: Sandpiper
She was six years old when I first met her on the beach near where I live. I drive to this beach, a distance of three or four miles, whenever the world begins to close in on me. She was building a sandcastle or something and looked up, her eyes as blue as the sea.
"Hello," she said.
I answered with a nod, not really in the mood to bother with a small child. "I'm building," she said.
"I see that. What is it?" I asked, not caring.
"Oh, I don't know, I just like the feel of sand. "
"That sounds good," I thought, and slipped off my shoes. A sandpiper glided by.
"That's a joy," the child said.
"It's a what?"
"It's a joy. My mama says sandpipers come to bring us joy." The bird went glissading down the beach. "Good-bye joy," I muttered to myself, "hello pain," and turned to walk on. I was depressed; my life seemed completely out of balance.
"What's your name?" She wouldn't give up.
"Ruth," I answered. "I'm Ruth Peterson."
"Mine's Wendy... I'm six."
"Hi, Wendy."
She giggled. "You're funny," she said. In spite of my gloom I laughed too and walked on. Her musical giggle followed me.
"Come again, Mrs. P," she called. "We'll have another happy day."
The days and weeks that followed belong to others: a group of unruly Boy Scouts, PTA meetings, and ailing mother. The sun was shining one morning as I took my hands out of the dishwater. "I need a sandpiper," I said to myself, gathering up my coat. The ever-changing balm of the seashore awaited me.
The breeze was chilly, but I strode along, trying to recapture the serenity I needed. I had forgotten the child and was startled when she appeared.
"Hello, Mrs. P," she said. "Do you want to play?"
"What do you have in mind?" I asked, with a twinge of annoyance.
"I don't know, you say."
"How about charades?" I asked sarcastically.
The tinkling laughter burst forth again. "I don't know what that is."
"Then let's just walk." Looking at her, I noticed the delicate fairness of her face. "Where do you live?" I asked.
"Over there." She pointed toward a row of summer cottages. Strange, I thought, in winter.
"Where do you go to school?"
"I don't go to school. Mommy says we're on vacation." She chattered little girl talk as we strolled up the beach, but my mind was on other things. When I left for home, Wendy said it had been a happy day.
Feeling surprisingly better, I smiled at her and agreed.
Three weeks later, I rushed to my beach in a state of near panic. I was in no mood to even greet Wendy. I thought I saw her mother on the porch and felt like demanding she keep her child at home.
"Look, if you don't mind," I said crossly when Wendy caught up with me, "I'd rather be alone today."
She seems unusually pale and out of breath.
"Why?" she asked.
I turned to her and shouted, "Because my mother died!" and thought, my God, why was I saying this to a little child?
"Oh," she said quietly, "then this is a bad day."
"Yes, and yesterday and the day before and-oh, go away!"
"Did it hurt? "
"Did what hurt?" I was exasperated with her, with myself.
"When she died?"
"Of course it hurt!" I snapped, misunderstanding, wrapped up in myself. I strode off.
A month or so after that, when I next went to the beach, she wasn't there. Feeling guilty, ashamed and admitting to myself I missed her, I went up to the cottage after my walk and knocked at the door. A drawn looking young woman with honey-colored hair opened the door.
"Hello," I said. "I'm Ruth Peterson. I missed your little girl today and wondered where she was."
"Oh yes, Mrs. Peterson, please come in. Wendy talked of you so much. I'm afraid I allowed her to bother you. If she was a nuisance, please, accept my apologies."
"Not at all-she's a delightful child," I said, suddenly realizing that I meant it.
"Where is she?"
"Wendy died last week, Mrs. Peterson. She had leukemia. Maybe she didn't tell you." Struck dumb, I groped for a chair. My breath caught.
"She loved this beach; so when she asked to come, we couldn't say no. She seemed so much better here and had a lot of what she called happy days. But the last few weeks, she declined rapidly..." her voice faltered.
"She left something for you...if only I can find it. Could you wait a moment while I look?"
I nodded stupidly, my mind racing for something, anything, to say to this lovely young woman. She handed me a smeared envelope, with MRS. P printed in bold, childish letters. Inside was a drawing in bright crayon hues-a yellow beach, a blue sea, and a brown bird. Underneath was carefully printed: A SANDPIPER TO BRING YOU JOY
Tears welled up in my eyes, and a heart that had almost forgotten to love opened wide. I took Wendy's mother in my arms. "I'm so sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," I muttered over and over, and we wept together.
The precious little picture is framed now and hangs in my study. Six words- one for each year of her life- that speak to me of harmony, courage, undemanding love. A gift from a child with sea-blue eyes and hair the color sand--- who taught me the gift of love.
NOTE: I hope you have a few Kleenex tissues in that box. The above is a true story sent out by Ruth Peterson. It serves as a reminder to all of us that we need to take time to enjoy living and life and each other. "The price of hating other human beings is loving oneself less"
Ever wondered why people who are not as fortunate always live life to the fullest?
Ever wondered why they knew the meaning of living while we gripe over the slightest thing?
Ever wondered where they get the strength from to counter all that was happening to them?
Ever wondered why they could, through will power, get over so many things?
Ever wondered why every story of a not so fortunate soul tugs at your heartstrings?
Indeed, I've always thought about it. How I wish I could understand. Understand what they are going through and learn from them. Treasure your friends while you can, for you never know what tomorrow brings.

My tiny 1lb 9oz baby squeezed my hand - and gave me hope
By Lucy Laing
Last updated at 11:26 AM on 26th August 2008As he lay desperately ill in his incubator under ultraviolet light, the tiny baby looked to be losing the battle for life.
Dylan Ardill had suffered a bleed on the brain, had a hole in his heart and his lungs had not formed properly.
He was born weighing less than 2lb and could have fitted into the palm of his father's hand.
![]()
Tender touch: The picture, taken under ultraviolet light, which the Ardill family will treasure forever
But a week later came a signal which filled his parents Ralph and Annalex with hope.
He raised his hand and gave his mother's finger a squeeze as Mr Ardill captured the moment on camera.
That moment proved to be a turning point.
Dylan began to put on weight, his medical problems were resolved and, at three months old, he was allowed home from St Mary's Hospital in West London.
He is now a healthy two-year-old.
'We will treasure that photograph for the rest of our lives,' said his 33-year-old mother, who runs a design company with her husband.
'It was the moment our son told us that he was going to make it.'
![]()
Healthy and happy: Dylan and his mum Annalex
Mrs Ardill had been expecting twins and the pregnancy went smoothly until a scan at 21 weeks showed that the second twin had no heartbeat.
Six weeks later, she went into premature labour as the second twin had moved into the birth canal.
Dylan arrived minutes later, weighing 1lb 9oz. He had to be resuscitated and was put straight on to a ventilator in intensive care. He also needed several blood transfusions.
Mrs Ardill, from North London, said: 'Both Ralph and I were terrified that we were going to lose him as he had been born so early.
'He was the size of a little bird. It was awful to see him lying there, surrounded by tubes and monitors.'
After Dylan began his recovery, the couple were allowed to cuddle him for the first time.
Mrs Ardill said: 'He was so light it felt like I didn't have anything in my arms at all.
'As each day passed, he grew stronger. One by one, tubes and machines were removed from him and he started coping on his own. It was amazing to see.'
Dylan has often been shown the treasured family photograph. His mother added: 'He points to it and says that it's his hand on mummy's.
'One day we will explain to him just how special that photograph is to us, and how when we were in despair, he had given us such an amazing message of hope.
'No one would ever believe that he had such a traumatic start to life.'

But once you are comfortable with someone, it will be a lasting friendship. You always earn respect from others. You seem to have lots of worries and problems but they won’t be for long. If you are a girl, most of you will get married/engaged early. You are a caring person towards your family and friends. You are a person of compassion, comfort & fairness, domestic responsibility, good judgment, and after all you can heal this world wounds to make peace for everyone because you have the great power and caring talent to take the world of love one step further.. Your best match 1, 3, 6, and 9. Good match 4, 5.
Number 7
You are realistic, confident, happy, and talented in education, music, art, singing, and most importantly in acting. You also have a bad temper! You value your family status a lot; you will be in the top rank when you reach a certain age. If you are a guy, you are popular with girls. Most of the number 7s face lots of problems with their married life. Only a few are happy. You have everything in your life but with worries throughout your life time. You need to get ready looking for a partner rather than waiting. If you don’t, then you might end up being single. You are born to contribute to everyone’s joy. Your best match is 2. Good matches are 1, 4.
Number 8
You have a very strong personality and people will find it hard to understand you. You are more likely to suffer in your younger years. You might be also the one responsible to look out for your family. You often suffer all the way through life. You will learn life in a very practical way. You are the one who will fight for justice and may even die in the war too. You are normally very reserved with a handful of friends and most of the time, live life alone and always prepared to help others. However, once you settle down (which is often late), then your hard lucks will disappear. You will face unexpected problems such as encountering poisonous animals, and accidents. You are highly disciplined, persistent, and courageous, and it is your strength that will take you to success. You are a great part of a family team. You are a fighter! Your Best match 1, 4 and 8. Good match 5.
Number 9
You guys are the most incompatible people in the world. You are so strong, physically and mentally. You often have big aims. You will work hard and will think it’s still hard to get there, even if you already have gotten there! Normally you suffer in the early age from family problems and generally you will have to fight in life. You are respected by others. You were however very naughty in your childhood, and often got beaten up by your parents and had been involved in fights and you seemed to have suffered lots of injuries. But when you grow older you become calm and will fall into the quiet and dignified macho type. Love is not an easy matter for you. You are however good in engineering or banking jobs because people always trust you. Your family life is very good, but you will always worry over your children. Your finer qualities are that you are humanitarian, patient, very wise & compassionate. You are born to achieve targets and serve every one equally without any prejudice. You are a role model for everyone. Your best match 3, 5, 6, and 9.
Health info.... Banana
Bananas. Containing three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.
Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.
But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
Depression:
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier. PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
Anemia:
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of haemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.
Blood Pressure:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.
Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlese school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.
Constipation:
High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.
Hangovers:
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
Heartburn:
Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
Morning Sickness:
Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
Mosquito Bites:
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
Nerves:
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
Overweight and at work?
Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the
most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.
Ulcers:
The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.
Temperature Control:
Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):
Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.
Smoking:
Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.
Stress:
Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.
Strokes:
According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine, "eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!
Warts:
Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!
So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around.
So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

My Fu Wa personality
Personality
Pure and Gentle
Description
In China's traditional culture and art, the fish and water designs are symbols of prosperity and harvest. And so Bei bei carries the blessing of prosperity.
A fish is also a symbol of surplus in Chinese culture, another measure of a good year and a good life.
The ornamental lines of the water-wave designs are taken from well-known Chinese paintings of the past. Among Fuwa, Bei bei is known to be gentle and pure. Strong in water sports, she reflects the blue Olympic ring.
